Efforts to Date

The Foundation, in commemoration of JB Tuhure, honors one of the creators in the field of music and literature with the JB Tuhure Memorial Award ( जे.बि टुहुरे स्मृति श्रष्टा सम्मान ) each year. The award, carrying a purse of Rs 1 lakh, has been bestowed upon two literary figures: Mr. Lava Pradhan ‘Mitra’ and Mr. Anil Poudel till the date.  A commemorative book ( स्मृति ग्रन्थ ) on JB Tuhure has also been published.

Although a piece of land was obtained in Khanar of Itahari Sub Metropolitan-10, Koshi province for the purpose of constructing a building for the Foundation, it turned out to be on the railway line. Consequently, attempts were made to acquire public land situated at Milijuli Tole in ward-2 Itahari, Koshi Province, with assistance from the Itahari Municipality Koshi Province.

The filming work for the creation of the documentary has been completed and is in the editing stage. The initial draft of the manuscript for the biography has been completed, and we are currently in the process of final editing.

जे.बी. टुहुरेको निरन्तरता भाग २

The second series of JB Tuhure Solo Musical Evening, Continued – 2019(जे.बि. टुहुरेको निरन्तरता भाग २-२०७६) was successfully organized at the Nepal Academy Hall in Kamaladi, Bagmati Province on 24th  April 2019. It was the first-ever event held by the Foundation since its establishment.

 जे.बी. टुहुरेको निरन्तरता भाग ४

The fourth series was organized at the premises of Pancha Shrawan Conflict-Victim Child House, in Ghurkauli ,Hariwan Sarlahi on 15th January, 2020. Mr. JB Tuhure himself actively participated and performed at all these events.

पहिलो स्मृति दिवस

After his death on the 26th of August 2021 due to a stroke, the first commemoration day was observed in 2022 by organizing a grand program at Bhanu Chowk, Dharan, his birthplace. Right Honorable Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was present as the Chief Guest at that event. A plethora of renowned vocalists and instrumentalists graced the stage, delivering live performances. During that program, Mr. Love Pradhan, the close friend of Tuhure and the lyricist of the famous song Basaai Hidne ko Taanti (Influx of Migrants), was honored.

दोस्रो स्मृति दिवस

The second commemoration day of late Tuhure was grandly celebrated in Satyamohan Auditorium of National Theater, located in Jamal, Kathmandu, where over a dozen artists performed various popular songs of late Tuhure. Mr. Anil Paudel, a poet, writer, and the lyricist of the song “Mrityu Pani Manchhe Pichhe Pharak Hundo Raichha” (Death also varies from one to another), was honored at the program. A commemorative book titled ‘जनबोलिका अभिश्रांत गायक जे.बि. टुहुरे’ (Tireless Singer of People’s Dialect JB Tuhure) was launched during that event.
