Who we are

The J.B. Tuhure Foundation, Nepal is a non-profit social organization established to honor and perpetuate the contributions of ‘Janagayak’ late JB Tuhure in Nepal’s progressive cultural movement while actively promoting, publicizing and developing progressive songs and music.

The Foundation was officially registered, during the lifetime of ‘Janagayak’ JB Tuhure in 2075/12/20 BS (April 03,2019) at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, and is also registered with Social Welfare Council.

Formally registered as per the Associations Registration Act, 1977, the Foundation has its branch office in Itahari, Sunsari, Koshi Province.

Our Mission

  • To preserve, promote and enrich the original and unique folk culture in Nepal.
  • To conduct research and studies on peculiar folk culture from different ethnicities and languages. Also, to enhance public awareness on national unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity and citizen’s rights through music and literature.
  • To conduct various training, seminar, and interaction programs for those devoted in the field of music and literature.
  • Organizing musical, cultural, literary events.
  • To offer recording and editing services for audio visuals content centered around promoting healthy entertainment, knowledge, education, messages and musical theme.
  • To create, publish or broadcast audio visual content, newspapers and radio or television and focused on the subjects of music and literature.
  • To recognize and pay tribute to creators in realms of songs, music and literature, engaging in research on their works while preserving their creative contributions.

Future Projects

The JB Tuhure Foundation plans to construct an office building in Eastern Nepal and establish a Music & Drama School featuring a state-of-the-art theater hall.

The Foundation has developed various plans that include publishing memories, biographies, autobiographies and books about Tuhure, creating a documentary based on his life history and operating FM radio and television channels to promote healthy, meaningful and pro-people songs.
